Life On Marz Community Club is a new Bucktown outpost for the Marz Community Brewing Company, otherwise based in the Bridgeport/McKinley area of Chicago. Consisting of a one barrel brewing facility, the limitations of the existing space made it so that the walk-in cooler needed to do triple duty, housing product for display and to-go sales, on site consumption, and forming a border with the bar so that the cooler could be tapped directly in order to avoid lines of refrigerant. Working around this large volume helped organize the rest of the space with the brewing facility/DJ booth/back of house living behind the bar but still visible, and several distinct seating areas in front.
The interior design itself was a collaboration with Adi Goodrich of Sing Sing Studio, and was meant to layer in elements of classic social clubs and halls of Eastern Europe, while still retaining the eccentricities of both the Marz brand and the unusual, compact space of a vintage building.
